Jug Bands, Wildlife Center and the hospital

Louisville is loaded with lots of charm.  A particular kind of charming, happy music is the Jug Band music.  There was another free venue for great music, a Jug Band Jubilee Festival was in town and several bands played at an outdoor ampitheatre by the river.  There wasn't a lot of people attending because it was too hot.  My favorite band was not a band, just one guy with a guitar, Pokey LaFargewith a name like that, you know he must be an interesting fellow.

We went to the Salato Wildlife Center in Frankfort.  That was a really nice walking trail to look at animals that couldn't be returned to the wild for one reason or another.  It's free and expect to dodge a lot of kids, but, it was still a nice walk/rome through exhibits of snakes and turtles and beautiful flowers in natural settings.  The Buffalo Trace Distillery is in Frankfort and it also has a free tour that has a nice video that tells of the history of Kentucky horse breeding and the Bourbon industry.

While not in the hospital, I have had time to make a tote bag.  It's the Empress pattern from Robyn Pandolphi.

This is Chelsea and I at the hospital.

I LOVE the Salato Wildlife Center! It is one of my favorite places to visit. Living in Harrodsburg, I'm only 45 minutes away, so I get to visit during all seasons. Great post!
