My oldest has graduated from Indiana University with an English writing degree. The ultimate irony was her red velvet cake writing was spelled wrong.
Now the hunt begins for a gainfully employable job, or for her to decide if she wants more schooling.
Anyway, I'm still working on my pink and brown scrap quilt.

I'm with you - I love piecing and applique together. It's especially effective with a nice nine patch like this one. Don't you just love the nine patch block!
