Northeast Quilting Friends Schedule for the next 6 months

Quilting is one of the last tribal things women can do together. Whether it's to work on one project as a group, or an individuals quilt, it's always nice when you have women to help and encourage you as you work. Let's face it, quilts take a lot of time to make, and time always goes faster when we are having fun. If you can find the right quilt guild or group of quilters to laugh and be inspired by, there is no better way of living a simply quilty life.

These are pictures of the quilt group I attend, Northeast Quilting Friends, which meets in Louisville, Kentucky. Here is our schedule for the first 6 months of meeting. January someone will be teaching the Underground Railroad sampler blocks, the last Tuesday of the every month through December. In February we'll learn how to make a tote bag, and take a trip to a quilt show at the Carnegie art center, in New Albany, Indiana. Next we go to a sale at a quilt shop. In March we go to Bloomington, Indiana for a quilt show and we also will be participating in Quilter's Day Out-a national quilting opportunity for all guilds to get together and visit about their activities, etc. April we are taking a trip to the Louisville Antique Mall . Paducah and Chicago both are having quilt shows this month. In June we will be finishing our Blooming Rose quilts and taking a trip to Lavenders.

This is just one example of a quilt guild and it's activities. Lots of lunches , laughter and love to share with wonderful women/quilters.

Join a quilt guild today or start your own. Churches and libraries are usually good places to start for a location...good luck and happy quilting.
